- We have had problems with many patients calling and canceling pressure examinations that they really need. Now we can receive them in the fresh air and also keep some distance, says Anna Wibom, section leader at the eye reception at the University Hospital in Linköping.

Can lead to blindness

If a patient with a green cataract goes too long with too high pressure in the eye, there is a great risk that it will lead to blindness, writes Region Östergötland in a press release.

- There are many patients who call and thank no, they dare not come, there are quite a few, says Anna Wibom to SVT News East.

Many patients who have been on the waiting list have canceled their pressure examination due to fear of corona and therefore these patients should now be able to be taken care of outdoors.

"Many are worried"

- Many people are worried about coming to the hospital during the pandemic. Eye disease is most common among patients over 70, and they are also at risk of covid-19 age, says Anna Wibom.

The reception in the tent, which is outside the eye reception, has reception a couple of days a week and during the day, when the reception opened, many patients came who had contacted the clinic to cancel their times.
