06 May 2020 The French Senate voted in the night, at first reading, the bill extending the state of health emergency, until 10 July. 'Le Monde' reports it. The text was adopted with 240 votes in favor, 25 against and 80 abstentions. It will now be examined in the National Assembly, Wednesday in committee, then Thursday in the hemicycle, with a view to final adoption before the weekend.

To date, coronavirus has caused 25,531 deaths in France, including 330 in the past 24 hours. 24,775 people are still hospitalized, with 3,430 serious cases in resuscitation facilities. Meanwhile, yesterday, President Emmanuel Macron went to a school in Yvelines to try to respond to the concerns of the mayors responsible for preparing to return to classrooms.
