An American detained in Venezuela spoke about the goals of mercenaries

As he said in a video that was shown on VTV, mercenaries had to take control of the airport and deliver Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro to take him to the United States. 

“[We had to ensure] the arrival of the planes, including the plane on which Maduro was to be taken away. They should have taken him to the USA, ”TASS quoted him as saying.

The Ministry of Defense of Venezuela reported that on the morning of May 3, a “group of mercenary terrorists organized and trained in Colombia” tried to get into the country on boats.

It was noted that among them were US citizens.

Colombia later denied any involvement in the incident.

On May 6, it became known that Venezuelan law enforcement authorities detained four more mercenaries who were trying to infiltrate the territory of the Latin American country.
