The Criminal Chamber of the Supreme Court has sentenced François Patrick Nogueira to three revisable permanent prison terms and a fourth of 25 years in prison for the murders of his uncle, his wife, and their two children (a boy of 18 months and a 3-year-old girl), committed in August 2016 in the town of Pioz (Guadalajara).

The High Court ruling dispels the doubts so far about the possibility of imposing sentences of permanent prison in the event of the murder of children or vulnerable people. In the first sentence on this sentence, the court held that the poor drafting of the Penal Code prevented its application in these cases. In a second sentence, he maintained that it was possible. Now the Supreme Court clarifies the discrepancies and confirms that it is possible to apply the harshest penalty to this type of murder.
