The Andalusian Government wants to open the beaches of its coastline to the bathroom on May 25 and so it will be transferred to the Central Executive, who requests an advance of the de-escalation on the coasts, given the weight of the service sector and tourism in the community economy.

This was announced on Tuesday by the counselor to the Presidency and spokesman for the Board, Elías Bendodo , who has also asked the Government to condone the royalty that the owners of beach bars have to pay to compensate for their losses. As a whole, that fee represents around 10 million euros per year, according to the calculation made by the Andalusian Government, which also intends to extend the concessions for a further year.

Elías Bendodo highlighted the importance of the sector in the community since it represents 12 percent of its GDP and 13 percent of employment and guaranteed that Andalusia would take all the necessary security measures, among which he cited capacity checks , the screening of the sand, the establishment of opening and closing hours or the removal of all the rental mats in the hammocks, advising instead the use of personal towels.

The Andalusian Government has also asked in recent days for a reduction in VAT in the tourism sector, to leave it at 4% compared to the current 10%. This provisional descent, which would have a temporary effect until the end of the year, can be very helpful for tourism companies, "said the spokesman.

The Board has also announced the launch of new aid for small and medium-sized companies, self-employed workers and mutuals worth 51 million euros and the expansion of 100 million euros from the initial item of 600 in guarantees. In this regard, it has announced that the administration has already received 2,257 requests from companies to benefit from the latter measure. A microcredit line of between 9,000 and 15,000 euros will also be launched.

The Minister of Health, Jesús Aguirre, stressed, for his part, that Andalusia already meets the conditions to join phase 1 in practically all of its territory, given the good evolution of the pandemic in recent weeks. Aguirre has taken stock, highlighting that in the last 24 hours there have been only 45 new confirmed infections and four deaths, bringing the number of deaths to 1,267 and the number of infections to 14,394. As of today, there are 569 patients admitted to Andalusian hospitals, 14 fewer than the previous day, of which 136 are in ICUs, a figure that has not registered any variation in the last 24 hours.
