Positive signals about the spread of infection in Skåne: "Not as drastic increase as we have thought"

Infection protection physician Eva Melander told on Tuesday about the new prognosis for infection spread that Region Skåne has produced. This means that the situation in Skåne is better than the previous forecast of April 30 showed.

- The most likely is that we remain or increase something, but it may not be such a drastic increase as we have thought before, says Eva Melander.

The fact that it looks better does not mean that the scans should relax. There is a social spread of covid-19, and if the infection is spread more widely in the elderly, the positive development can be jeopardized.

- If we get an undesirable spread on the accommodation, it will have a significant impact on our figures, says Eva Melander.

The infection control physician believes that the spread of infection will be at the calculated level "for a fairly long time to come" without being able to specify more precisely.

- Just like a weather forecast, it can change when something unexpected happens, says Eva Melander.
