According to the Pensions Agency, this means a reduction of SEK 180 per month for an income pension of SEK 12,000.

- We have a large group of members at PRO who already have far too low pensions today. Should the few lowered pensions, it would be an extremely hard blow to them, says Ingemar Hamskär, an expert in pensioners' economics at PRO.

More uncertain than usual

“The income trend controls the calculation of the income pension and the supplementary pension, however, in the current situation, this development is much more uncertain than usual. The Pension Authority will come up with a new forecast at the end of July, ”says Ole Settergren, Head of Analysis at the Pension Authority in a comment.

In an earlier forecast from February this year, it was estimated that pensions would increase by 0.3 percent.

Worried members

However, the pension authority emphasizes that the forecast is uncertain but concerns are evident among PRO's members.

- I receive both e-mails and phone calls from worried members who see that their pension funds have fallen sharply in value, says Ingemar Hamskär, adding:

- We would like to see that you look over the entire pension system. They have been patched and repaired for a very long time and we want to see substantially increased public pensions.

For the premium pension, the reduction is expected to be eight percent in 2021.
