05 May 2020Starting tests for cinema: exhibitors, distributors and producers are working to reopen theaters "as soon as possible, safely, hopefully in summer 2020", but in the meantime they launch Moviement Village , a national project that aims to open cinema to open, activating "a network of rooms that can lead to the return to the consumption of content on the big screen thus allowing to keep alive the relationship with the public" and together guaranteeing "full compliance with the protocols of the health emergency that will be issued by the authorities competent. "

Designed by Anec (national association of cinema exhibitors) with the participation of Anica (national association of film and audiovisual companies), distributors and producers section, with the Accademia del cinema italiano David di Donatello , the project has the support of the General Directorate of Cinema and Audiovisual of Mibact , the patronage of Anci and the collaboration of the Anac , the 100 Authors and the Nuovo Imaie .

Moviement Village 'was born' from Moviement, the project that, with the support of the General Directorate of Cinema at Mibact, has joined the film chain since 2019 with the aim of offering great titles on screens all year round and affirming the cinema as a privileged place and essential of the life of a film. The result, the extraordinary 2019 film summer - remembers a note - which marked record attendances and collections for the sector, confirming how much the public, even in Italy, was ready for a finally 12-month film season.

"We are working every day, together with the institutions, to be able to reopen the cinemas as soon as possible, safely, hopefully in the summer of 2020", read the note. "The difficult health situation in which we are immersed has caused the closure of over 4000 screens and the suspension from work of over 6 thousand direct employees, as well as imposing severe limitations in everyone's daily life and a difficult rethinking of cultural and social practices".

Pending the necessary clarifications for the reopening of the rooms, Moviement Village was born: "The initiative - it is emphasized - in full compliance with the health emergency protocols that will be issued by the competent authorities, is conceived so as to guarantee total safety for spectators at every stage of the event: from the purchase of tickets, to the regulation of incoming and outgoing flows, to the control of dedicated spaces ".

The project "will develop a series of events, spread throughout the national territory, to enrich the entertainment offer of urban areas during the summer, also together with partners with the specific objective of spreading reading such as the Presìdi Association of book, Italian Booksellers Association, Cepell-Center for Books and Reading, also promoting proximity tourism, and guaranteeing the professionalism of the sector operators with the aim of maintaining high quality projection and audio standards supported by the technical partner Cinemeccanica ".

The programming "will feature a selection of films selected from those of the 2019/2020 season, as well as unpublished films for the big screen and alternative content. In addition, in concert with the Academy of Italian cinema, the Moviement Village will become the Casa del David by Donatello programming, also in the presence of authors and talents, the Italian films nominated and awarded in the latest edition ".

The project "involves the creation of a network of private entities and partners that share the efforts necessary for its optimal realization, diffusion and promotion towards the general public". But "fundamental - it is still underlined - will be the institutional intervention at different levels to develop the initiative in all the Regions and support the project in its various components, with the aim of triggering a decisive impulse for cultural revitalization of the communities and a progressive recovery of the economic-productive and employment system of the cinema sector. For every 100 arenas activated, it is estimated that around 600 employees and workers will be directly involved in order to reach up to 3000 units thanks to the related activities. "
