A British family has left their home after discovering the presence of 20 poisonous spiders, one of the most dangerous spiders in the world, in a cluster of bananas that they had bought from a store.

The housewife Melanie Price watched the spiders after she tried to get bananas out of his package.

26-year-old Melanie escaped outside her home with her 30-year-old husband, Daniel, and their two children, Oliver, 3, and Emily, 11 months. The heads of this department store asked the family to spray their house with pesticide as these Brazilian spiders are likely to be highly toxic.

The South American insects are the most dangerous in the world - and their sting can also cause a dangerous blood effect that lasts for up to four hours.

Daniel was able to braveryly return the cluster of bananas and spiders, from South America, whose stems could grow to 8 inches, to the local store in Wadbridge, Cornwall. The family closed their house for two weeks on the advice of pest controllers.

"Spiders can kill a person within two hours," Melanie says. "It was a terrifying sight."

She added: "We had to keep the children out of this danger. It was the most difficult 48 hours we spent in our lives, believe me."

For his part, a spokesman for the company that owns the store said: “We have strict controls to ensure all bananas are washed and inspected before packaging, however, in very rare cases, we can overlook the detection of these pests.”
