A violent assault took place Sunday evening in the early evening at the bottom of the Jean-Jaurès alleys, in the city center of Toulouse. It was around 7:30 p.m. when a man assaulted four other people with a knife.

Without it being known for the moment if he knew his victims, homeless people aged 32 to 44 according to 100% Radio, he attacked them, seriously injuring three of them. The brawl would have started on the side of the Air France agency and would have continued on the other side of the ramblas.

A victim hospitalized in absolute emergency

One of the four men was targeted by the carotid artery and was in an absolute emergency when the firefighters and the Samu transported him to the emergency room of the Purpan hospital. Two other men were also taken care of by the emergency services and hospitalized in Rangueil for serious injuries.

A fourth, more slightly injured, was sutured on the spot. It was the municipal police, who were in the area, who quickly intervened to put an end to the attack, overpowering the man in his thirties. The police of the departmental security then took over.

The man was taken into police custody at the central police station. Investigators will have to determine what prompted the man to stab four men in the street.
