Sweden's R-figure, which indicates how quickly the infection spreads, has been below 1 since April 21. Which means that every sick person does not even infect another person and that the pandemic will gradually ebb, according to state epidemiologist Anders Tegnell.

In Kalmar County, however, this reduction in the spread of infection has not yet been noticed, and the health care is preparing to continue to increase the number of covid-19 sick patients in need of care.

- Right now we are still seeing a certain increase, so we are not changing anything in the close perspective. We stick to the planning we have and follow the development day by day, says Johan Rosenqvist, Health and Medical Director in the Kalmar Region.

Do you have any idea where the infection is the worst in Kalmar County?

- It started in the south and took a while before we got a fall from the north as well, but as I see it, people from the entire county are getting sick right now, says Johan Rosenqvist.
