Former French international striker Peguy Luyindula has been named sports director of Dijon, the Ligue 1 club, 16th in the last championship, announced on Monday.

As part of an overhaul of the organization chart, this position was created after the departure of Sébastien Larcier, former director of recruitment for DFCO, to become sports director in Angers.

Luyindula (40) arrived in Dijon in the summer of 2019 to be adviser to the president.

As sports director, he will be responsible for defining and implementing the sports policy for all of the DFCO's entities, the professional group, the training and the women's section.

Peguy Luyindula played in Niort (L2), Strasbourg (1998-2001), Lyon (2001-2004), Marseille (2004-2007), Auxerre (2005-2006), Levante (Spain, 2006-2007), at Paris Saint -Germain (2007-2012) and New York Red Bulls (2013-2014). It displays 6 selections for the French team (1 goal).
