Ile-de-France residents will be able to enjoy some green lungs from the region from May 11. In a tweet, the government indicated that the forests will be accessible again on May 11 and it does not matter if the department is classified green or red. Ile-de-France residents will therefore be able to go to the Fontainebleau forest (Seine-et-Marne) for example.

" That's excellent news "

The forests were forbidden access since March 19. "This is excellent news", responded to France 3, Bertrand Dehelly, president of the association Les amis de la forêt de Fontainebleau. And to specify: "I think that on May 11 all the Bellifontains (inhabitants of Fontainebleau) will throw themselves in the forest, it is like the people in Brittany who live at the edge of the beaches without being able to go there".

However, according to France 3, the prefecture of Seine-et-Marne does not rule out taking a decree to restrict certain sports activities in its forest areas, such as rock climbing, which is very popular in Fontainebleau.
