To the terminal, hundreds of thousands of parcels from Europe will be sorted and forwarded throughout Sweden. Throughout the country, Postnord handles around half a million packages every day. At the Toftan terminal, between 150,000 and 170,000 are handled by them. The record was broken at the Black Friday sale - but the quarantine times mean the staff is full up even now. More and more people also do not want to have to go to a package representative to pick up their order.

- Since the beginning of the corona crisis, we can see that our customers are more choosing to have the packages home-driven to the door. There we have growth of between 30 and 50 percent, says Jan-Allan Eklund.

Retail is declining - home deliveries are increasing

The packages are not only more, but also larger. In e-commerce youth, customers ordered most smaller products such as CDs and books. Today, goods of all sizes, including furniture, decks, building materials and trampoline are traded. But on the whole, deliveries will not be more, as what used to go to the stores decreases.

- What we notice a decrease in is what goes to the retail sector. Since e-commerce is growing, we are on the same figures as last year. We spend less on retail and pick up self-services and more on home delivery. So that's a certain change for us, he says.

Maybe it will be a habit that lives to some extent even after the corona crisis, Jan-Allan Eklund believes.

- We will see a certain change in behavior.
