  Tokayev spoke highly of the work of the former Speaker of the House of Representatives, Nazarbayeva. He also pointed out that Ashmbayev has rich experience in state affairs and has worked in different fields. He believes that he will be qualified as the speaker of the upper house of parliament.

  Ashmbayev was born in 1971. He has served as assistant to the president, deputy chairman of the ruling party "Light of the Motherland" party, member of the lower house of parliament and other positions.
