The coronavirus has caused 166 additional deaths in 24 hours in France, a total of 24,760 deaths since March 1, said on Saturday May 2 the Ministry of Health.

This death toll is divided into 15,487 deaths in hospitals and 9,273 in social and medico-social establishments, mainly nursing homes, the statement said.

The day before, the death toll was 24,594, or 166 additional deaths in 24 hours.

The pressure on resuscitation services continues to ease, with 51 fewer Covid-19 patients, but the total number of patients hospitalized in these services remains above initial capacity, according to a press release.
