Coronavirus in Mali: the Minister of Health on mission in the country

The Minister of Health Michel Sidibé completes this Saturday, May 2, a visit of several days inside Mali to realize the situation and organize the responses against the Covid-19. After Kayes in the south, he went to the Kidal region and will be in particular this Saturday in the Gao region.

There was a cry from the heart of a trade unionist calling us on the lack of equipment ”.
On the spot, he assessed the needs, brought medical equipment, still insufficient, and announced financial aid from the State. Still inside Mali, patients tested positive in Ségou and Mopti, in the Center. But also in Kidal and Gao, two other localities visited by the Minister of Health and his delegation. "We had to go there in anticipation ," continues Michel Sidibé. It was also an opportunity to realize that in the face of adversity, daily, our services are fighting to save lives ”.
In Mali, to date, 508 people have tested positive for Covid-19: 196 treated patients have been cured and there have been 26 deaths. As part of the fight against the coronavirus, the Malian State has mobilized emergency aid for the regional hospitals of the interior of the country of approximately 1.3 billion CFA francs (2 million euros).
