At 15.30 the police were alerted to a store in Strömstad where a man according to the police had threatened the cashier with a knife. The man has since left the shop with the knife visible.
When a police officer comes to the area, a situation arises, and the man is shot by a police officer. According to police, the man is awake and talkable and an ambulance is sent to the scene.
The scene has been blocked off for a forensic examination and the shot man is arrested.
