For the nationalist president of the Executive Council of Corsica Gilles Simeoni, the passage of Haute-Corse in green on the maps of the deconfinement of the government is a relief. At the microphone of Europe 1 this Friday, he evokes a "fairly gross error".

INTERVIEW

It was a mistake. Classified in "red" in the first deconfinement maps unveiled by the Minister of Health Olivier Véran Thursday evening, Haute-Corse is indeed classified "green" this Friday evening. A change that confirms the doubts expressed by the Regional Health Agency (ARS) of Corsica, from the first presentation of the cards, in terms of accounting for cases of Covid-19 in Bastia. A relief and "a message of optimism" for Gilles Simeoni.

Guest of the "Big Evening Newspaper" of Europe 1 this Friday, the nationalist president of the Executive Council of Corsica evokes a "rather gross error": "We confused the number of people contaminated with that of the people who showed up at the 'fearing to be hospital'. A "substantial" difference which therefore led the northern part of the Island of Beauty to be classified in the wrong category. "I hope this new card will have as much impact as the first one which still left the Corsicans very perplexed".

From there to accelerate the deconfinement of Corsica? "No, but it's a positive sign, it shows that when confinement is respected in a serious way, there are results. But we must not declare victory."
