British war veteran Tom Moore, who became a national hero after raising around £ 30 million, for health care, today celebrated his 100th birthday. His collection has received a lot of attention in the UK and he is now celebrated widely by the whole country. Lots of greeting cards have been sent to him from all over the world and the Prime Minister has published a video greeting.
"You have inspired incredible generosity," says Boris Johnson in the video, recorded at 10 downing street.
The Queen has also sent Moore a personal letter and promoted him to the Colonel.
The collection has ended up in Guinness's record book for the largest collection made by an individual who went for a walk.
