The first patient with coronavirus died in Tomsk Oblast

"The first case of death from a coronavirus infection was registered, two new cases of the disease were detected, two recovered," the report said.

According to Vice Governor Ivan Deyev, the deceased “did not work, was at risk for age, had serious comorbidities.”

“Against this background, COVID-19, he developed a severe form of pneumonia, for nine days he was on mechanical ventilation,” he said.

Deev noted that "the cause of death was multiple organ failure."

Earlier, the first deaths of patients with COVID-19 were recorded in Yakutia and the Yaroslavl region.
