Previous years, summer jobs in the municipality of Smedjebacken have been relevant for young people between 16 and 17 years. Thanks to government support, all young people aged 16-18 now are offered summer jobs instead.
- We have invested a lot of money on this. Now we can guarantee all the three year-old jobs that have had the opportunity to apply and those who have received the applications on time. It feels great to us, says the municipal council Fredrik Rönning (S).
177 applications have so far been submitted to the municipality. Emil Andersson, who is in grade 9, is one of those waiting to be notified about summer jobs somewhere in the municipality's operations.
- I'm excited. I have been looking for painting and carpentry. I had no summer job last year.
