The forces of the internationally recognized Libyan National Accord government announced that their air force carried out today, Wednesday, combat raids targeting a convoy carrying ammunition for the militias of retired Major Khalifa Khalifa, south of the capital, Tripoli.

On the other hand, yesterday, Haftar forces targeted a field hospital in the Airport Road area, south of the capital, with rocket-propelled grenades, which caused "extensive damage" in the hospital and the vehicles of the medical staff, according to Al-Wefaq government sources.

In a statement published by the media center for Operation "Berkan Al-Fath" at dawn today, Mohamed Qanounou, a spokesman for the Al-Wefaq forces, said that the military convoy was targeted at the road between the Qurayyat and Nasma areas south of Tripoli.

He added that the targeted shipments consisted of a truck loaded with ammunition accompanied by four cars carrying ammunition and was on its way to supply Haftar forces in Tarhuna and south of Tripoli.

The Al-Wefaq government had also announced last Sunday in a statement that Haftar's forces had again bombed the Mitiga International Airport in Tripoli and the residential neighborhoods surrounding it.

The statement pointed out that Haftar forces targeted the densely populated Ain Zara area south of the capital.

It is noteworthy that Haftar forces have continued since April 4, 2019 a military attack in an attempt to control Tripoli, the headquarters of the Al-Wefaq government.

Hifter announced the day before yesterday the downfall of the Skhirat political agreement - which was signed in 2015 as a basis for a political settlement - and installed himself at the head of the country's leadership.

The move was rejected by the Supreme Council of State, as well as by the United Nations and major international powers, and the Al-Wefaq government considered it a "new coup" against the legitimate authority.
