Martine Wonner, the only LREM MP to have voted against the government's deconfinement strategy, is "summoned" by the majority group to explain herself next Wednesday, AFP learned from parliamentary sources on Wednesday.

The member for Bas-Rhin, on the left wing of the majority, will participate in the "next group office" by videoconference Wednesday at 2 p.m.

A doctor by profession and favorable to the controversial use of chloroquine in the face of the coronavirus, Martine Wonner had "regretted the absence of any therapeutic strategy", by announcing her vote on Tuesday.

"I am invited to explain myself. I have no problem with that. I will see what they have to say. I would just like to remind you that we are a large group, with different tendencies and ideas and that it that's the richness of the group, "she reacted to AFP.

"I have always been transparent. With the collective (favorable to the treatment of Covid-19 with hydroxychloroquine) + Let the doctors prescribe +, we want to be able to treat patients early," she said.

According to Martine Wonner, this invitation "does not change anything. In this period of crisis, I do not ask myself the question of my belonging to the group".

Six "walkers" had also abstained, including Perrine Goulet or Patrick Vignal, while almost all of the LREM deputies supported the strategy presented by the Prime Minister to the National Assembly (289 votes for).

Asked about possible sanctions in the event of dissenting votes, the group's president Gilles Le Gendre replied "we will see" Tuesday before the presentation of the plan and the ballot.

Some LREM deputies, such as Aurélien Taché or Guillaume Chiche, who voted for the plan, deplored the organization of the vote on Tuesday, without giving the parliamentarians time to think about it.

These "walkers" on the left wing were especially critical of the StopCovid mobile data tracking project. The Prime Minister finally announced the postponement of the debate on this controversial application and a specific vote when it is ready.
