The Director of the Public Prosecutions Department in Abu Dhabi, Counselor Hassan Mohamed Al Hammadi, announced during the media forum organized by the Abu Dhabi Judicial Department (remote), that the period from March 8 to April 13, witnessed the registration of 9,510 cases, compared to 15 thousand and 186 cases during the same period From last year, a drop of 40%.

He said: “2779 cases of check without balance were registered compared to 3212 cases in the same period of 2019, a decrease of 13%, and crimes against the residence law amounted to 526 cases compared to 815 during the same period of 2019, a decrease of 35%.” He pointed out that the decision issued to extend the validity of residencies and identity Residents and visitor visas have contributed to a reduction in those crimes.

He continued: «The crimes of assault on the integrity of the body of others decreased by 18% from 402 to 313 cases, while thefts decreased by 44% from 362 to 201 cases, in addition to the decrease in drug abuse cases from 250 to 158 cases, a decrease of 36%».

Al-Hammadi added, "The biggest decrease was in traffic cases by 55%, by 166 cases, compared to 365 during the same period last year. Likewise, traffic accidents and deaths resulting from them decreased by 50% as a natural result of the commitment of individuals to stay in their homes."

High crime accusations
