During Tuesday, Region Kalmar announced that they will provide intensive care for 50 patients. The background is the scenario developed by the Public Health Authority and is based on developments in Lombardy in Italy.

Looking at Swedish conditions

The Kronoberg region will expand to a total of 16 intensive care units. Instead, they base their calculations on what developments have looked like in the other region of Sweden. 

- We have chosen to follow Västra Götaland's, Sörmland, Östergötland and Stockholm's development. We have to assume Swedish conditions when making these types of assessments, I think, says Martin Myrskog, regional director at Kronoberg.
