The Prime Minister, Pedro Sánchez, announced on Tuesday afternoon that the descaling will last eight weeks -two months- throughout the national territory, it will be "gradual, asymmetric and coordinated" and "there will be no mobility between provinces or islands until reach the new normal. " In other words, the permitted activities "can only be carried out in the province or island where they live".

This was announced by the president after the meeting of the Council of Ministers, in addition to noting that "we will recover gradually, in stages", which will be four. Each phase will last two weeks. The Government's forecast is to reach that "new normal" at the end of June.

The Council of Ministers approved this Tuesday the so-called Plan for the Transition to a new Normal. The Government assures that it has been preparing it for weeks, but while other countries had already advanced their roadmap to abandon confinement as a result of the coronavirus crisis and gradually resume economic activity, the Spanish did not know anything yet on the road to a possible departure.

The only relief, since the Covid-19 locked the Spaniards in their homes, was the decision to allow children to go out since last Sunday and the president's announcement that starting Saturday, May 2, adults will be able to play sports. outdoors individually.

The Ministry of Health has prepared several previous documents with all the health markers -up to 27- that the autonomous communities must comply with in order to start the de-escalation.

Minister Salvador Illa held meetings with the health advisers on April 24 and this Monday and Sánchez addressed this matter on Sunday at the conference of regional presidents, but nothing was brought forward in any meeting.

The Executive asked the autonomies to contribute their own plans, although at all times he made it clear that the transition would depend on the Government.
