In 2008, the Olympic Games was held in Beijing, attracting Taiwan ’s middle-aged Song Xiaojun to come to the mainland for employment. The more than 10 years of working and living in the mainland made him firmly believe that the choice of "landing" was correct. Song Xiaojun, 51, admitted that he and his family have become accustomed to the mainland's way of life. After retirement, he will still choose to stay on the mainland. For him, this is not his hometown, but his hometown.

Song Xiaojun is currently the general manager of a five-star hotel in Taiyuan, Shanxi. He was affected by the epidemic this year. After learning the news during the Chinese New Year in Taiwan, he immediately chose to end his vacation and return to work in Taiyuan. The news also reached his relatives and friends, and he persuaded him not to go back. "I told them that I would do my part. The hotel also has a mission of social responsibility. I have to go back."

In early February, Song Xiaojun left his wife and daughter in Taiwan and returned to Taiyuan alone. After 14 days of quarantine at home, he immediately put into work. In the meantime, Song Xiaojun ’s hotel received a notice as a centralized isolation point and was responsible for receiving the isolation task of imported passengers from abroad. He was more fortunate that he chose to come back and fight the epidemic with the hotel staff.

During the isolation period, Song Xiaojun and the hotel working group respected the cultural background and living customs of the people at home and abroad, and provided personalized services. After successfully completing the isolation task, Song Xiaojun stated that he did not relax until every guest returned safely to his location. "This time I learned more professional knowledge on epidemic prevention and provided a lot of experience for hotel work in the future."

Song Xiaojun has been engaged in hotel management for more than 20 years, and has been dispatched by the company to Xi'an, Qingdao, Linyi, Taiyuan and other places in the mainland for more than 10 years. In 2013, he went to Taiyuan to build a hotel and at the same time brought his wife and daughter who lived in Taiwan for a long time. Now, his daughter is studying in a local elementary school.

"Since the successful bid for the Olympic Games in Beijing, I have the idea of coming to the mainland. In recent years, the explosive development of the mainland hotel industry has made me more firmly rooted in the mainland." Song Xiaojun said that before, he and his wife and daughter have been settled in Taiwan , And the parents live in Hong Kong. Since coming to Taiyuan, they will visit their parents in Hong Kong when their daughter spends winter and summer vacations, and then return to Taiwan to spend their holidays.

In the epidemic situation, Song Xiaojun has also kept in touch with his family and friends far away in Taiwan and Hong Kong, and "cloud shared" epidemic prevention knowledge, reminding them to wear masks and wash their hands when they go out. Speaking of this, he bluntly stated that his daughter was also in "cloud class" in Taiwan during this period. Having lived on the mainland for many years, I really feel the convenience brought by "cloud life".

"Fast development and many opportunities" is Song Xiaojun's evaluation of Shanxi. He believes that the underground cultural relics look at Shaanxi and the ancient cultural relics look at Shanxi. The tourist attractions in Shanxi are full of stars, and in recent years, Shanxi has taken cultural tourism as the first industry for the development of non-coal industries. It is when vigorously developing that the prospects are promising.

Recalling the scene when he first arrived in Taiyuan, Song Xiaojun felt, "Taiyuan has changed a lot. When the hotel first opened, the surrounding area was basically wasteland, and no cars came here. In just a few years, high-rise buildings rose up from the ground. The road is wide, the transportation is convenient, more and more tourists, the hotel development is naturally good. For our hotel practitioners, city changes can be reflected by the number of tourists. "

Song Xiaojun said that in recent years, cross-strait economic and trade, cultural, and personnel exchanges have become more and more profound, and the mainland has more opportunities. For young people in Taiwan, they are all opportunities. Whenever a friend asked about it, he would recommend him to visit the mainland. Talking about his expectations for the future, he said frankly that his daughter would continue to study on the mainland and have time to travel with his family to different cities and experience the local culture.
