Eleven people, suspected of being involved in a large-scale drug trade, were arrested in Montpellier on Friday by the police under the direction of the Departmental Directorate of Public Security of Hérault. The officials seized 2,255 kg of cannabis herb, 6.3 kg of cannabis resin, 343 g of cocaine, 3,115 euros in cash and a handgun.

Since mid-March, the police have been monitoring drug trafficking, which seems to be well established in the Tournezy district. They decided to take action on April 24. During the searches, they notably discovered a notebook on which the accounts of this lucrative business were scrupulously listed: according to these books of account, the daily turnover oscillated between 25,000 and 35,000 euros.

Six people brought to the prosecution this Tuesday

Six of the eleven people placed in police custody, aged 17 to 54, including the presumed head of the network, aged 28, are to be brought to the prosecution this Tuesday in view of a presentation in immediate appearance at the criminal court of Montpellier . All have already been convicted of various crimes. The other five, whose role was minimal, have been released.
