Nowadays, the last fences are set up around Lund city park.

- It looks very stable with bolts between each section. If you want to get in here you have to work a lot. I feel very confident that this will work, says Lars Brobeck, who is the park superintendent.

Detected quickly

And anyone who sees fences more as a challenge than as a lockout should think again.

- The police will patrol here in the area and there will also be staff from the field group and others, says Lars Brobeck.

- Anyone who tries to get in will quickly be discovered. There will be a lot of people in circulation.

Maintenance in the park

While the park is closed, the park management should do some maintenance. In addition to ongoing maintenance such as irrigation, weeding and mowing, you should also take care, for example, to paint fences and move sand inside the park.

For the young people who usually celebrate in the city park, it will be a different year.

- We follow the directives we get from politics and authorities. At the same time, we know that young people think this is a lot of fun, says Lars Brobeck.

Resting year for the greenery

At the same time, the park is also taking a break from the election celebration. The wounds remain for a good while afterwards. This year will be a resting year for both the greenery and the birds. The city park will be available again at midnight towards May 1, by opening entrances in the fence.

- And then next year we hope that everything is as usual again, says Lars Broberg.

Lund's botanical garden is also closed under Valborg.
