27 April 2020 In the coming weeks, 660 million surgical masks will be on the Italian market at an average price of 38 euro cents per piece.

Five Italian companies produce them - Fab, Marobe, Mediberg, Parmon and Veneta Distribuzione - who have already signed contracts with the extraordinary commissioner for the emergency, Domenico Arcuri.

"I want to thank these Italian excellences - says Arcuri - who have shown an extraordinary availability and a strong sense of responsibility. Nobody sells at a price higher than 50 cents".

According to Arcuri, "this is an important first step: we are contacting the other 108 Italian companies, incentivized thanks to 'CuraItalia', the subsidy put in place by the government to accelerate the national production of masks. Reassurance is reaching them all
from the Commissioner's offices, who will purchase their masks as they are placed on the market ".

With the order signed yesterday, Arcuri finally adds, "we have set a fair price for the sale of the masks to the citizens. Nobody will have to lose, starting from the manufacturing companies, pharmacies and parapharmacies. We are defeating the shameful episodes recorded in recent months Health is not speculated ".

Pharmacies that have purchased masks and protective devices at a price above 50 cents will be guaranteed "refreshment and additional supplies will be guaranteed that will bring back the costs incurred, for each individual mask, below the maximum price decided by the government". This is what another agreement signed by Arcuri with the Order of Pharmacists, Federfarma and Assofarm provides.
