The report says a circular letter from the first vicar of the Patriarch Cyril - Metropolitan Dionysius - dated April 27, "regarding the non-admission of citizens to the territory of churches and other church premises from 04/29/2020 to a special order."

According to TASS, Vladimir Legoyda, chairman of the synodal department for relations between the church and society and the media of the Moscow Patriarchate, confirmed that divine services in the churches of the capital and the Moscow Region will be performed without parishioners.

“Yes, (until further notice from April 29. - RT ),” said Legoyda.

On April 27, Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia Kirill ordered the clergy to strictly comply with the instructions for the prevention of coronavirus, establishing the responsibility of clergy. 

The working group attached to the patriarchy stated that a large number of cases of coronavirus infection were recorded in some monasteries and churches.
