The tables were too tight, people sat close to each other, and the queues for the toilets were in some places long. In addition, several restaurants lacked information on how customers should behave.
This was discovered by the environmental management during inspections at twelve taverns in Helsingborg this past weekend. Everyone got notes, especially the congestion at the tables.
- At the same time, we see a high level of awareness among the pubs, you want to do right. But now we need to turn the details further, ”says Olu Lindström, Head of Environmental Management in Helsingborg.
Now all criticized taverns must report to the administration what measures they have taken.
The police also discovered congestion and unauthorized serving over the counter this weekend. Two of these taverns were in Landskrona, three in Helsingborg.

"People were more restrictive in the beginning"Violations can lead to the municipality deciding that restaurants and taverns must close. In Stockholm, five taverns were closed this weekend following a decision by the infection control physician.
The police in the northwest have compiled the observations from the weekend and will now notify the relevant municipalities.
- Ultimately, it is the infection control physician who decides to close. We report what we see, says Karim Ottosson.
- My general assessment is that people were more restrictive at the beginning of the pandemic. This past weekend we saw more congestion than the weekend before. But it is extremely important that the recommendations are followed so we will keep track of this.
