The European Commission intends to allocate € 1.2 million to Kiev for the implementation of the project “Strengthening the institutional capacity of the Ministry of Economic Development, Trade and Agriculture of Ukraine in the field of national quality infrastructure (NEC)”.

The objective of this European initiative, among other things, is to improve the country's business climate.

“The overall goal: to improve Ukraine’s performance in the business climate, competitiveness, innovation and integration into the internal market of the European Union through the improvement of the NEC,” the document states.

The project involves the implementation of initiatives in several areas. So, it is noted that the participants will be involved in the work on strengthening the Ukrainian regulatory framework related to technical standards.

Their responsibilities will also include the development of a public outreach strategy on the opportunities that will open up to the private sector of Ukraine with the reform of the NEC.

“The task (NICK. - RT ) is to encourage entrepreneurs to take advantage of the benefits of de-bureaucratization,” the document says.

An application for participation in the tender may be submitted only by state bodies and other authorized structures.

Last fall, the official representative of the European Foreign Service, Maya Kosyanchich, called the amount of EU financial assistance directed to Ukraine unprecedented.

She noted that since 2014, the European Union and European financial institutions have “mobilized more than € 15 billion in grants and loans to support the reform process” in the country.
