Kim Jong-Un has not been seen since April 11. The speculation about his health has since been fueled by his absence from the solemnity of the former dictator, Grandfather Kim Il-Sung's birthday on April 15.

Speculation has been extensive. According to multiple media sources, the dictator would have been in a critical condition following a heart surgery. According to Reuters sources, China has since sent a delegation, including medical personnel, to investigate him.

"Is in the Wonsan area"

Both South Korean and US authorities have previously stated that there is nothing to suggest that the dictator was seriously ill. And now the South Korean government states that the dictator is alive.

- Kim Jong-Un is alive and well. He has been in the Wonsan area since April 13. No suspicious movements have so far been noted, says Moon Chung-In, foreign policy chief adviser to South Korea's President Moon-Jae-In to CNN.

Thanks workers

What he says is consistent with satellite images recently published by US site 38 North. They allegedly show the North Korean leader's train in the resort of Wonsan on the country's east coast.

The scarce information from the closed state is often difficult to assess. And rumor dissemination is a rule rather than an exception when Kim Jong-Un is not seen in public, South Korean news agency Yonhap writes. On Sunday, state-run North Korean newspaper Rodong Sinmun wrote that the leader thanked workers in the city of Samjiyon. However, some newly taken pictures of the dictator have not been shown.
