NBA team training centers will reopen in US states Friday where coronavirus containment measures have been relaxed, ESPN announced on Sunday.

The players will however not be able to train together and will have to limit themselves to individual exercises in a healthy and controlled environment, specifies the American chain.

The reopening on May 1 of the centers should concern teams like the Atlanta Hawks and the Oklahoma City Thunder, located in the states of Georgia and Oklahoma, among the first to have eased containment and traffic restrictions . In particular, sports halls and gymnasiums can be used again.

The 2019-20 NBA season has been halted since March 12 after French player Rudy Gobert (Utah Jazz) tested positive for Covid-19.

NBA boss Adam Silver said in early April that he would not vote on a possible comeback before May, when the playoffs should have started on April 18.
