Coronavirus: Senegal remains cautious about the Malagasy “remedy”

No test in Senegal of the Malagasy remedy "Covid-Organics" for the moment. This decoction composed of plants is claimed by President Andry Rajoelina as a solution against the coronavirus. The Madagascan president in a tweet had announced this Friday an "order" of the remedy by Senegal after an interview with his counterpart Macky Sall. However, according to a source close to the file in Dakar, no order has been placed.

" We are following research in Madagascar with interest" These are now the words of President Macky Sall's advisers this Saturday, April 25. There is no question of the order mentioned by Andry Rajoelina, which the presidency does not confirm.
Macky Sall in the videoconference with his counterpart said he was open to receiving samples. But no delivery of the Malagasy "remedy" is on the agenda, underlines a source close to the file, for whom it is not planned to test the decoction on patients affected by the coronavirus in Senegal. In the medical profession, we are waiting to know more about the composition of this “remedy” based on a plant, artemisia .

“ I have no information on orders for this product placed by the State. I think we will wait to see what it is. In any case, if we have samples, we have the structures capable of analyzing them and seeing how this solution can help in the care (of patients) of Covid-19, ”he explains.
For the moment, no tangible scientific proof of the effectiveness of this "remedy" has been provided.
