Coronavirus: Italy plans very gradual deconfinement from May 4

The first country to set up general containment of the population in early March, Italy currently has 26,644 deaths linked to Covid-19 and 197,675 cases of contamination since February 20. It will not begin its deconfinement before May 4.

The only exception are construction sites and strategic companies that will be able to reopen this Monday, April 27. Schools, colleges and high schools will remain closed until September, due to the "high  risk of contagion  ", said the head of government, Giuseppe Conte, during the presentation of the plan. Some details of it have not been released, particularly those concerning the modalities for public transport in the new phase of coexistence with the virus.

It is a very gradual deconfinement that Italy foresees. Provided that social distanciations are respected, that you have an exit certificate and that you wear a mask in closed places, you will be able to circulate again from May 4, beyond a few hundred meters from your home. . That is to say access to a public garden with his children and practice an individual sport.

Travel from one region to another, subject to conditions

Travel within the same region will be authorized to meet family members. Those from one region to another will be allowed if the place of work or residence is outside the zone where we were confined. Companies in the manufacturing, construction and wholesale trade sectors will reopen on Monday if security protocols are guaranteed.

The reopening of retail businesses and museums is set for May 18, that of hair salons, bars and restaurants on June 1. However, schools will remain closed until September. The funeral will be celebrated from May 4, in the presence of 15 people maximum. Masses remain suspended until further notice.
