Prime Minister Édouard Philippe will present France's deconfinement plan on Tuesday April 28 at 3 p.m. in front of the National Assembly, Matignon announced on Saturday April 25. "The national strategy for the deconfinement plan" is due to start on May 11.

This presentation will be followed by a debate and a vote in accordance with article 50-1 of the Constitution, according to a letter from the Prime Minister addressed to Richard Ferrand, President of the National Assembly.

Édouard Philippe will group his statement with that already scheduled for the same day on the question of tracing and the "Stop Covid" application.

Seventeen priority projects

Since April 13, the date on which French President Emmanuel Macron has set the start of the deconfinement to May 11, the government has been working on its exit plan, under the leadership of senior civil servant and mayor Jean Castex.

A total of seventeen priority projects have been identified. Among them, the return to school, the resumption of work in companies, the proper functioning of public transport, the supply of masks and gel, the policy of tests or support for the elderly.

Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, containment was initiated in France on March 17.

"Territorialized" deconfinement according to the impact of the epidemic

Monday, around the Minister of Territorial Cohesion Jacqueline Gourault, a dozen ministers will consult representatives of local authorities, to discuss certain hypotheses.

Several avenues have already been put forward by the executive, including a return to class spread over three weeks, on a voluntary basis. Deconfinement should also be "territorialized", depending on the impact of the epidemic.
