US President Donald Trump has come under harsh criticism from the medical community after proposing research into whether coronavirus can be treated by injecting antiseptic into the body.
He also suggested illuminating the bodies of patients with UV rays, an idea that a doctor rejected in a press briefing on Thursday at the White House.

Trump seems to base his suggestions on an official’s remarks that he had reviewed earlier in the results of US government research that indicated that a coronavirus may weaken more quickly when exposed to sunlight and heat, and that sunlight and disinfectants kill the virus.

It is known that antiseptics are dangerous substances and can be toxic if ingested. Even external exposure to it can be dangerous to the skin, eyes and respiratory system.

The study also showed that the ovaries could kill the virus in saliva or respiratory fluids within five minutes and could be eliminated by isopropyl alcohol more quickly.

The director of the Science and Technology Directorate at the US Department of Homeland Security, William Ryan, earlier in the press conference reviewed the results of that study.

While Trump recommended, in his briefness, to treat the research with more caution, he proposed more research in this area. Addressing the coordinator for the White House Coronavirus Response Coordinator, Dr. Derora Birks, the president said in a resemblance to the proposal, “If we assume that we shed light on the body with tremendous force - whether it is ultraviolet or just very strong light.” He continued, “I think you said that it was Confirm after that and you will test the feasibility of that. ”The president went on to suggest another way to combat the virus,“ assuming you entered light into the body, either through the skin or some other way. And I think you said you were going to test that as well, and I think it sounds interesting. ”

"Then, the purge expelled him within a minute," Trump added. one minute. Is there a way we can do such a thing, for example by injecting the disinfectant inside or almost doing a cleaning process? So it would be interesting to check that out. ”

Then Trump pointed to his head, and continued: «I am not a doctor. But I, like, are someone who has good knowledge of some things. ” Then he turned to Dr. Birks again and asked her whether she had heard about the use of "heat and light" to treat people with corona.

"It is not a cure," Pyrex replied. "I mean, of course, that having a fever is a good thing. When you get a fever, it helps your body respond, but I've never heard of heat or light therapy."

"I think it's a great thing to look into that," Trump said. A journalist questioned whether Trump's unconfirmed statements could convey dangerous misinformation to the Americans.

The medical community criticized the president’s idea altogether, as lung physician Dr. Vin Gupta warned the public in “NBC News” that the idea of Trump, which could have fatal consequences: “The idea of injecting or eating any type of cleansing product into the body is an idea other than Responsible and dangerous, it is a common method that people use when they want to kill themselves. ”

Presidential candidate Joe Biden advised the president to focus on PPE and testing, rather than wild theories: “UV light? Injection disinfectant? Here's an idea, Mr. President: more tests and protective equipment for actual medical professionals. ”
