Thirty LR deputies demanded Friday "urgent clarifications for tourism", suggesting in particular to postpone the holidays from the beginning of July to the beginning of September and to provide a device for tax exemption for reservations in France.
In a press release, these elected officials, led by Vaucluse deputy Julien Aubert, relay the "numerous questions from tourism professionals, worried about the summer season" in view of the coronavirus crisis, while hotel and catering professionals the restoration meet Friday with Emmanuel Macron.
These deputies, including vice-president LR Marc Le Fur or Philippe Gosselin, in particular ask the government to "clearly indicate whether the beaches, campsites, natural parks will be reopened to the public by the beginning of July".
For the hotel and catering sector "suffering a lot", they ask "if special measures are planned regarding their taxation this summer". They also relay the interrogations of the French on taking holidays and closing borders.
Taking into account in particular the "risks weighing on bookings in July", they suggest in particular "to postpone the holidays of the first half of July to the first half of September, by also postponing to mid-September the start of the school year".
They also propose "that the government provide a tax exemption system for reservations in France".
It would be a question, they say, of launching "a major campaign + Let's go to France + supported by the State" to help tourism professionals, but also "to prevent French people from reimporting the epidemic of another country to their return".
