In a meeting between, among others, the Jönköping County Region, the County Administrative Board of Jönköping County and the municipalities, the socially important activities are described as moderately affected by the corona pandemic. But it is warned that health care may have the worst ahead:

"The situation analysis shows that in the long term it can be a significant deterioration," the minutes of the meeting states.

Continuing efforts are being made to re-prioritize operations, to staff additional departments and to increase the number of IVA sites.

The state reports from the municipalities show that the greatest impact is found in the elderly care, mainly due to the lack of protective equipment and high staff absenteeism and that there is a concern among the staff. Ten of the county's 13 municipalities have reported illness cases of covid-19 in care and elderly care.

But overall, sickness absence in the county's municipalities and the county administrative board is considerably lower now than a few weeks ago, as also Kjell Ivarsson, who is the director of healthcare for the surgical care business area of ​​the county hospital, describes:

- At the beginning of the pandemic, more people were at home, now it's not as many, he says.

On a five-degree scale, the business community in the county is judged to be at a third in terms of the impact of the pandemic, or “significant impact” as the county administrative board puts it.

Several companies have major problems with financing and liquidity, large numbers of notified persons and an increase in bankruptcies. During April, the development of notifications has slowed down compared to how it was in March. Signals also exist about increased mental health.
