“Timofey Sergeyevich died yesterday in an accident,” RIA Novosti quoted the words of Musatov’s assistant.
It is specified that the lawyer died in the 51st year of life.
In February, Musatov filed a cassation appeal against the decision of the Paris Court of Appeal to leave Vinnik in custody.
Alexander Vinnik was arrested in Greece in 2017 at the request of the United States, where he is accused of creating, without a license from the American authorities, a cryptocurrency exchange through which, according to Washington, billions of dollars were laundered.
