The Corona pandemic has put a stop to the traditional Ramadan celebration, where community is one of the key words. Kalsoom Kaleem, chairman of the Gothenburg mosque, thinks that many have had to think about it.

- It's difficult, we usually have over 2000 people gathered from all over the region. But we must follow the recommendations of the Public Health Authority and now we have to stay home instead.

Yet togetherness is strengthened

Kalsoom Kaleem believes that the community can be strengthened despite the corona crisis and social distancing. She sees that many give food and gifts to the poor and needy.

- Today I have produced two chickens instead of one so I can cook extra food and donate to my neighbors.
