Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif said that his country has neither nuclear weapons nor missiles designed to carry such "terrible weapons."

He said through his Twitter account that "lessons cannot be delivered to Iran based on a misreading of Security Council Resolution 2231".

Zarif accused Washington of bullying everyone about this decision since 2017, "and Europe obeyed the United States instead of the UN resolution."

Earlier, the minister tweeted about what he considered to be the provocation of the American fleet forces in the Persian Gulf.

He commented on the tweet that US President Donald Trump instructed his forces to target Iranian warships in the event of harassment, stressing that the United States has no right to provoke the Iranian navy in the Persian Gulf.

Mutual threats
The Revolutionary Guards Commander Hussein Salami confirmed that Tehran would destroy American warships if Iran’s security was threatened by the Gulf, in response to statements by US Defense Secretary Mark Esber that his country changed the rules of engagement after the recent friction between the two sides in the Gulf.

Salami added - in an interview with official television on Thursday - that any threat to his country’s security and national interests in the Gulf waters "would be met by a direct and decisive response."

And what happened between the Revolutionary Guards boats and the American ship more than a week ago in the Gulf waters, Salami said that it was caused by the aggressive, unprofessional American behavior, according to his expression.

For his part, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Abbas Mousavi said yesterday that his country condemns Trump's threats, and recommends the US administration to use its armed forces to confront the Corona virus in the United States instead of threatening countries.

Mousavi added that there is no international resolution preventing Iran from launching a satellite into space.
