The emergency doctor, Dr. Nour Ammar Essam, who currently works in a hospital in one of the European countries, confirmed to «Emirates Today» that the UAE is following unprecedented health and preventive measures to confront the virus, more than what the largest European hospitals do.

The doctor, who works in a well-known European hospital, compared the methods of dealing with patients and the suspected cases of the disease in the UAE, with those in European countries, to conclude that “the health authorities in the UAE provide an exceptional model.”

Nour continued that she was born in the Emirates, studied medicine at the University of Sharjah, graduated there, worked and trained in government and private hospitals in the country, before traveling to a European country, to complete her specialized study in the field of emergency medicine.

She stated that she works in one of the most important international hospitals, and her work is the participation of the medical staff specialized in examining, treating and diagnosing people with Corona.

Nour said: “If we compare the medical procedures used in UAE hospitals with most European countries, to reduce the spread of the Corona virus among hospital workers and members of society, we will find that the UAE is one of the best countries that implement preventive measures, in terms of clothing, masks and medical gloves.”

Nour explained that the UAE is adopting the best methods to protect its medical personnel, while "most European hospitals follow traditional preventive measures that do not fall within the emergency situations required by the current circumstances, as doctors wear the normal medical mask, and it does not provide them with adequate protection from infection."

She noted that she is following the media briefing, which is organized by the Emirates continuously, especially the precautionary measures to guide the population in the health methods that must be followed.

"This is not here," she said, referring to the European country where she currently resides.
