A little break that goes wrong. A Royal Navy spokesperson announced on Friday that an "investigation is underway" after reports of a party hosted by the commander of a nuclear submarine. He would have done so for his crew, despite the containment put in place in the United Kingdom to try to stop the pandemic of new coronavirus.

Social media images show HMS Trenchant crew enjoying barbecue and music played by two sailors playing DJs after the submarine is docked at Devonport, in Plymouth (south-west of England). The vessel returned from several months of maneuvers at sea.

The commander would be on leave

According to the BBC, the commander ignored the recommendations not to organize a party, and he was sent on leave. For its part, The Sun specifies that two lower ranking sailors were punished for refusing to comply with the order of a senior naval base officer to end the celebrations.

The United Kingdom, where nearly 19,000 people died from the disease, on March 23 decreed a containment of the population which runs until at least May 7.
