From the first of March to April 19, the employment office in the county has seen more than 2,400 newly registered job seekers.
- That's about a thousand more than last year. So that's an increase. Behind every singular, there is an individual who risks having his finances ruined. There are a thousand people who feel really bad, says Kauko Leppälä.
During the same period, 537 persons were affected by notice in Västmanland. As in the rest of the country, the most employed industries are currently: hotels, restaurants, trade, hospitality industry, staffing companies and transport, but the situation looks better in the county when compared with the rest of the country.
"We have not been affected as much by percentage notice nor newly registered unemployed as yet. If it is a coincidence or not I dare not say, but I am fairly convinced that we will also get our share." The industry has so far not been notified and Västmanland is, after all, industry-heavy, so we keep our thumbs up for it to do well.
