It is noted that the parties "discussed current issues on the bilateral and international agenda, including the theme of cooperation in the fight against a new coronavirus pandemic in the light of recent decisions of the UN General Assembly."

The ministers also discussed "the prospects for an Afghan settlement, the activities of the BRICS during the Russian presidency, as well as cooperation in the Russia-India-China format."

In late March, Russian President Vladimir Putin and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke on the phone about the measures introduced in the countries in connection with the spread of coronavirus infection COVID-19.
