According to an exclusive BVA survey for Europe 1 and Orange published Thursday, the French have a renewed optimism concerning the economic situation of the country, but also about their life as confined. An effect possibly generated by government clarifications on after May 11.

EXCLUSIVE

The French have a renewed optimism. After the concern linked to the uncertainties around the deconfinement Wednesday, it seems that the information distilled by the government and Emmanuel Macron on after May 11, especially in terms of education and reopening of businesses, reassure the French. In any case, this is what an exclusive BVA survey for Europe 1 and Orange * shows this Thursday. Thus, 2% more respondents trust the authorities in managing the coronavirus crisis. An indicator which remains however rather limited, at 35%.

Renewed confidence in the economic sector

This revival is mainly reflected in the economic sector, where the French are now 61% thinking that their business will be able to face the crisis caused by the Covid-19. Or an increase of five points in 24 hours. Despite the announcement Wednesday of an imminent social security deficit estimated at 41 billion euros, a record, respondents are also more and more likely to have confidence in the French economic situation. Some 18% of them even declare themselves "completely confident", up three points since Wednesday and five since Sunday, the highest rate ever achieved since the survey was put in place.

CORONAVIRUS ESSENTIALS

> Can France hope for a more favorable scenario than Italy?

> Are women and people with blood type O more resistant?

> Are certain serious forms linked to a genetic factor?

> How will the distribution of masks take place in France?

> Back to school on May 11: under what conditions?

> How to keep sleep during confinement?

Containment that is less difficult to endure on a daily basis ...

The contours of post-May 11 are less blurred and the French tolerate their daily confinement a little better. Almost half of respondents (49%) find it easy to shop, an indicator up two points over the past 24 hours, while 26% of respondents now find it easy to maintain their lives social. A statistic that has been evolving positively since the start of the week.

... even if difficulties persist

But the French also experience daily difficulties. The feeling of ease of telecommuting lost three points to 66%, while caring for children was simple for 67% of parents. An indicator certainly up by two points in 24 hours, but far from reaching the 81% recorded at the end of the school holidays in zone C.

As for morale, the question "what mark, between 0 and 10, would you give to reflect the level of your morale today?", The average score again reached 6.4. Stabilization at the highest level ever recorded since the existence of the survey, which has lasted since last Sunday.

* Continuous barometric survey carried out by Internet, between April 21 and 23, 2020, with a representative sample of 1,000 French people aged 18 and over, according to the quota method and the roll-up principle.
